The 121st edition of the traditional ZuckerBäckerball will take place on Thursday, 11 January 2024. So there are still a good 14 weeks until the dance floors of Vienna’s imperial castle Hofburg swings to the confectioners’ beat again.
Our ball programme planning is well underway, and we want to ensure that all ball guests, once again, will be treated to an evening enriched with dance, delights and entertainment.
Once again, the grand raffle will give ball guests the opportunity to win one of three thousand cakes and other sweet prizes. In the “Schaubackstube” – a baking demonstration in our show bakery – bakers and pastry chefs will be showing off their craftsmanship live in the Rittersaal (the Knights' Hall) – tasting samples are of course included!
The “Zuckerbäcker Awards” is a competition for the most beautiful cakes, a highlight of the ball each and every year. At the 14th edition of this creative cake competition showpieces of the most creative confectioners are on display. The theme for this year’s competition is “Underwater World – Life in the Sea”.
A long-kept secret will be revealed at a press conference in December, when the ball’s PR Officer, Honorary Vice Consul, Birgit Sarata, announces the celebrity who will perform at the grand opening. Also, during the midnight ceremony, a stunning “Celebrity Cake” will be handed over to this person.
Furthermore, lots of “Sweet games” can be tried at the ball – a feast for dancing and good taste!
