Every year, a pastry chef or confectioner creates a cake for a well-known celebrity. The presentation of the sweet masterpiece takes place before just midnight rings and it has become one of the highlights of the ZuckerBäckerball.

In 2019, the Celebrity Cake was awarded to two well-known vocalists of the Vienna State Opera, namely to Kammersängerin, Ildikó Raimondi, (literally meaning “chamber singer” an honorific Austrian title for distinguished opera or classical music singers) and to tenor, Herbert Lippert. The two also delighted ball guests with a performance, which fit in nicely with the festive opening of the ball.
